Why investors choose it

5 benefits of Grenada citizenship

1

Visa-free travel

165 destinations without a visa: the UK, the Schengen states, Singapore, Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong — and China, visa-free up to 30 days, rare among second passports.

2

Visas to the USA

The headline act: Grenadians can apply for the E-2 visa — live and work in the US by starting or buying a business, renewable indefinitely — plus the B-1/B-2 visitor visa for stays up to 180 days a year.

3

Returnable investment

Choose real estate and the capital comes back: hold the government-approved property 5 years, then sell — earning around 4% a year in rent meanwhile.

4

Tax optimisation

No tax on foreign income, dividends, interest, royalties, inheritance, capital gains — or stamp duty. Citizenship alone creates no tax residency.

5

A second home

The Isle of Spice: warm seas, rainforest, a stable Commonwealth democracy — a residence, a holiday base, or simply the safe haven in the drawer.

Procedure

Five steps to the passport

The stages are the same for both investment options. The full journey usually takes at least 8 months — and the investment is made only after approval.

1

Preliminary check 1 day

Our compliance side screens you against the same databases Grenada's IMA uses — confidentially, on a passport copy alone — keeping rejection risk near 1% before a cent is spent.

2

Document preparation 2+ weeks

Passports, certificates, bank statements, affidavits where needed. Lawyers assemble the file, complete the government forms, and submit everything to the Investment Migration Agency (IMA).

3

Due Diligence & processing 3–6 months

The IMA vets every family member aged 17+, may request clarifications — and conducts a mandatory interview ($1,000 per person, in English or your preferred language).

4

Approval & investment up to 1 month

On approval — and only then — you fulfil the investment within 30 days: the NTF contribution in full, or the property purchase (a 10% deposit upfront with 90% after approval is a common structure).

5

Passport 1+ months

The passport and naturalisation certificate are issued within about four weeks of the investment — collected at the agent's office or couriered to your address. No visit to Grenada required at any stage.

The returnable route

Real estate: the option investors pick twice as often

Why property

  • Government-approved only — every eligible project vetted by the state
  • Branded tourist stock — hotels and resorts with real occupancy
  • ~4% rental yield a year while you hold, capital back at the 5-year exit

How we run it

  • Shortlist to your budget and holding goals
  • Checks before you pay — price, yield and resale terms verified by lawyers
  • Fully remote transaction, paperwork managed on the ground

FAQ

About Grenada citizenship

What makes the E-2 visa path special? +

Grenada is the only Caribbean CBI country with an E-2 treaty with the United States: its citizens can apply for an investor visa that lets them live and work in the US by starting or buying a substantial business — and the E-2 is renewable indefinitely. For clients whose real goal is America, this passport is the bridge.

Do I ever need to visit Grenada? +

Under the current rules, no — the entire process runs remotely, interview included. Worth knowing: Parliament approved 2026 amendments introducing a 30-day stay within the first five years, plus biometrics and an integration programme — but their entry into force has been postponed, with no implementation date set. We track every circular and will tell you exactly what applies on the day you file.

Can the investment be returned? +

Only on the real-estate route: hold the approved property 5 years, then sell — typically to the next CBI applicant — collecting 2–5% annual rent meanwhile. The NTF contribution is a donation, non-refundable by design.

Can I apply on my own? +

No — the IMA accepts applications only through licensed agents, under the Citizenship by Investment Act No. 15 of 2013. That's the structure of the programme, not a sales line.

Which nationalities are restricted? +

Applications are not accepted from nationals of Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. A conditional list — including Cuba, Venezuela, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, Yemen and others — may apply under strict conditions: alternative residence, banking outside the origin country, and no active ties to it.

What happens if my application is refused? +

Your capital is protected by the sequence: the investment is due only after approval. Government processing fees are non-refundable — which is exactly why the preliminary check comes first, before anything is paid.

Can citizenship be revoked? +

Yes, in defined cases: fraud, illegal discounts, prohibited financing sources, or later acts damaging Grenada's reputation — and recent practice shows revocations do happen. The lesson: pay the published price through a licensed agent; a "discounted" Caribbean passport is a time bomb, not a bargain.

Do I become a Grenada tax resident automatically? +

No — citizenship alone creates no tax residency; that takes 183+ days a year on the island. Grenada levies no tax on foreign income, inheritance or capital gains, and non-residents are taxed only on local income.
